Overview
Our "Best of Tanzania" tented lodge safari spends a full week traveling through some of Tanzania's most striking landscapes, taking in Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, the Serengeti and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.
You sleep in tents throughout, which feels immersive while still offering proper comfort. One stay is at Kati Kati Tented Camp inside the Serengeti itself, right in the heart of the park, so there's no commuting in each day.
Our guide to tented camps versus lodges can help you compare, and you can contact us to book this itinerary.

Day by Day (7 days)
You are collected from your hotel in the morning and reach Tarangire National Park after a drive of about 2 hours. Tarangire is regarded as one of the best places to see elephants up close, with thousands of animals undisturbed by vehicles, along with buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. Overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp.
Drive from Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park, which is famous for more than 400 bird species. Its grassy plains are partly covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara, where large flamingo colonies breed seasonally. Overnight at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge.
Travel by way of the cooler highlands toward the southern Serengeti, arriving on the plains by midday. Watch for the bizarre kopje rock formations, where predators often take shelter. Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp inside the park.
The day is given over to game drives across the central Serengeti, taking in resident wildlife and, depending on the season, the migrating herds. Another night at Kati Kati Tented Camp.
Drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, viewing game on the way as the terrain climbs into highland forest. The night is spent on the crater rim.
Spend a full day going down to the crater floor and exploring it, one of the most concentrated wildlife-viewing areas in Africa. By evening you return to the rim.
Return by road to Arusha, then transfer to the airport to catch your departure flight.
