Flying Between Tanzania's Parks: A Guide
Flying Between Tanzania's Parks: A Guide
Practical, real-world guidance from Map Adventure Safari
Short domestic flights are a handy, often overlooked way to shape a Tanzania itinerary. Light aircraft serve most major parks, and a transfer that would eat several hours on the road becomes a flight of under an hour. You also get a view of the landscape from the air, which is a different way to take in the country.
Before you pack, know this: domestic flights usually limit luggage to soft-sided bags under a particular weight. Even if your large hard-shell suitcase is fine for international flights, it generally won't suit this part of your journey.
Flights are particularly useful when you want to join the Northern Circuit to southern parks like Ruaha or Nyerere, because driving there would cost you a full day or more.
