Getting to Tanzania from India: Flights, Visas and Trip Planning

How to plan a Tanzania safari from India: flights, visa rules and logistics

Of all the long-haul departure points, India has easier access to Tanzania than most. Direct flights and simple one-stop connections through Nairobi, Doha or Addis Ababa make the trip to Kilimanjaro shorter than many travelers expect. Indian passport holders typically need an e-Visa, which is easy to apply for online well ahead of travel. Flight times from most major Indian cities are fairly short, so even a 5 to 7 night safari makes sense. You don't need the longer trip we'd suggest to travelers from much farther away, because the ratio of travel time to trip length already works in your favor. If you do have more time, though, the easy access from India also makes it simple to stretch into a longer combined itinerary without the trip turning into mostly transit. Read our visa guide, or browse our safari itineraries to find a length that suits you.
