Getting to Tanzania from China: Flights, Visas and Trip Planning
How to plan a Tanzania safari from China: flights, visa rules and logistics
Flights from China to Tanzania usually route through Doha, Addis Ababa or Nairobi before reaching Kilimanjaro International Airport. The journey is long, but the major connecting hubs serve it well.
Chinese passport holders generally need an e-Visa, and it's best to arrange it several weeks before departure so there's enough processing time. With such a long flight, we typically recommend 10 nights or more. That length uses the journey well, instead of leaving a disproportionate share of your time in transit compared with time on safari.
A longer stay also leaves room to properly combine a Northern Circuit safari with other parts of Tanzania, rather than squeezing everything into a short window that doesn't do justice to the distance.
